The gift of prophecy is used to encourage, build up, and strengthen the church body. It is rarely about things fifteen years in the future, but instead it’s used to speak into peoples’ lives, sometimes helping them see things in themselves that they didn’t know was there. It means you are seeking out a continuous relationship with God and that you follow through on the subtle words He may relay to you. It requires faith and for one to approach others out of love.You must be careful when operating in this gifting. It should not be used to put down or reprimand others. Let the Holy Spirit lead, direct, and empower you.
