Gifted to Give

When the Gift of Giving is your strength, you tend to see wealth as a tool that can be used towards a greater purpose. It is more than simply being a generous person, but having a desire to contribute and participate in something bigger than yourself. This does not mean that your gift must always translate to financial contributions. It can be seen as meeting a need, giving up your time, resources, and knowledge to a cause that you believe in. A person gifted in giving isn’t required to start shelling out to every cause, but by using discernment, they can decide which area of their life they want to use their resources towards. While others might view some givers as cold or calloused, using their funds to manipulate people or make themselves look better, most people who give are like Paul. The gift they give for a cause or ministry is an expression of a previous heart-to-heart connection they have developed with those who will benefit most from that gift. By embracing this gift, you will find that although you are driven to give you will find yourself receiving blessings back. Whether that is the joy of seeing your contribution do good or getting to take part in something new.

So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us

1 Thess. 2:8, ESV
